The LCM that puts students first

Edrupt has since 2012 helped over 35.000 students archieve their goals by putting the user's needs first with their learning platform called EnkelEksamen.

Going direct to students (whereas compeditors go to schools/teachers) have resulted in a platform and content beloved by students with a strong Word of Mouth effect.

Creating the next design system

Being the first designer in Edrupt's history, I immediately saw that their design system had much room for improvement. Visually, it looked very outdated. Content wise, it was unmanageable. When it comes to accessibility, there was no consideration for it at all.

My work started creating a new design system that was up to date with what the users expect from a modern platform. I made it from scratch in Figma and collaborated closely with our frontend developer to translate it to TailwindUI.

Reducing the amount of font sizes from over 50(!) to an amount that was more manageable, while making sure they were passing WCAG's guidelines for accessibility.
Full overview of the status of all components in a separate handover file.
Including the anatomy of native components made the handover process to developers more fluent.

Updating the individual pages to the new design system and profile

We transitioned all pages from using three different frontend frameworks to only using Tailwind.

Before: 3 different styling frameworks.
After: Only using components from Tailwind.
Before: There were no system for placing the main content of the webpage.
After: All main content starts from the top left corner.

Designing a new product

We successfully managed to launch a new product where I was the lead designer and project manager.

Through user interviews and feedback from surveys, we uncovered two user needs that we could solve:
• At the end of the semester, student perfer working with assignments to study for their exams.
• Students find it hard to get an overview of which subjects they should focus on.

Using our self-produced content to our favour, we built a summarizing quiz of all the assignments in our courses.

Students needs changes throughout the semester, going from wanting to gather information - to utilizing it by solving assignments.
Giving students an overview of their performance in each chapter helps them map their knowledge and focus on what they should spend more time studying.
